We have approximately 200,000 photographs, ranging in date from the mid-19th century to the present day.
They include black and white and colour prints, autochromes and slides, including glass lantern slides.
Highlights include photographs of the construction of the Kensington Gardens in the 1870’s; more than 700 portrait carte-de-visite photographs, mostly of 19th-century botanists and gardeners, which complement the Valerie Finnis collection of important 20th century gardeners; and a large photographic collection covering the history of Wisley through horticulture, events, buildings and people.
