The Milne Photographic Collection

The Milne Photographic Collection comprises a large number of negatives, slides, prints and films, which have not yet been fully accessioned. The main subjects are all related to the Electrical Industry and include people, buildings, workmen, vehicles, shops, offices, advertising material, domestic appliances and electrical installations, though this list is by no means exhaustive. The Collection was originally put together by employees of SEEBoard under the direction of Archie Milne, one-time Chairman of SEEBoard. It has since been added to by acquisitions from other organisations that have since disappeared. Photographic items date from about 1900 to the present day but are often of items that are much older. The collection is possibly the largest such, relating to the UK industry.
