Aerial photos of the UK dating from 1958. Includes the Chorley Handford / Realistic archive, the London Aerial / Paxstar collection and the Skyscan tethered ballon photo collection. In total over 300,000 medium format photos most of which are in colour on negative and transparency film. About 10% has been digitised and a geocoding programme is underway to enable searching on a map based interface.
The archive contains a number of special projects such as heritage sites, sports locations, progress photography on large developments such as the regeneration of London's Docklands and is used extensively for property and environmental based investigations of historic land use.
